Reusing content across different social media platforms with ChatGPT
Practical ChatGPT prompts for repurposing your social media content
Is reusing your content lazy?
Not at all. I see it as a strategic move that helps me expand my reach.
I don’t blindly copy-paste my work. Instead, I adapt it for different platforms.
For example, the conference presentations can become blog articles, which later transform into multiple LinkedIn or X posts.
This way, I engage a diverse audience and save time.
Additionally, sharing links to my articles on websites like HackerNoon further improve my visibility.
To me repurposing content isn’t about cutting corners— it’s about maximizing the value of my work and reaching as many people as possible.
How to repurpose your social media content?
There are a few tips that can help you crosspost your content more effectively.
This way you can boost your audience engagement, but still keep it low-effort.
Here’s what to do:
Plan your reusable content ahead of time
I plan in advance to determine which parts of my content, or sometimes the entire piece, can be reused. This method makes it easier and more natural to create multiple posts for different platforms. I also think ahead where I want to repost my content.
Adjust the language
When reposting content, it’s important to adjust the language to fit each platform’s unique style and audience. This way I make sure that my message resonates better with users. For, example conversational tone is more needed for X, while more professional and detailed approach is suited for LinkedIn.
Group similar tasks
To optimize my workflow, I complete similar tasks simultaneously. For example, when designing graphics for a publication, I create them for all platforms at once. Often, only minor adjustments are needed, ensuring I have everything ready for reposting. The same applies to the writing process.
Link back to your original content
Whenever possible, I guide my audience back to the original main post. This strategy improves search engine performance, increases traffic, and boosts my SEO efforts over time. When resharing newsletter articles on other platforms, I always include the original source.
